Trust through precise language
The Oakwell evidence standard
Untreated turquoise deserves more than a confident adjective. Our labels tell you what is known, who supplied the information, and what has been independently verified.
Our three evidence labels
Verified Untreated
Reserved for an individual stone accompanied by an independent laboratory report stating that no treatment was detected within the laboratory's testing scope. The report and its limits are shown with the listing.
Supplier-Represented Untreated
The supplier identifies the stone as untreated, but Oakwell does not yet have an independent laboratory report for that individual stone. Collection 01 currently carries this label.
Treatment Disclosed
Used when stabilization, impregnation, dye, backing, coating, or another enhancement is known. The known treatment is named rather than hidden behind the word “natural.”
What every finished listing should disclose
Inventory number; exact-stone front and reverse photographs; daylight video; weight and dimensions; backing status; known condition; treatment evidence label; provenance and its source; price; availability; testing documents, when present.
What we will not claim
Appearance alone cannot prove treatment status or geographic origin. We do not turn supplier provenance into laboratory certainty, and we do not call a stone Verified Untreated without supporting evidence.
Independent testing
Testing may be arranged before purchase. The laboratory, scope, cost, timing, and what happens if the result differs from the listing will be agreed in writing before submission.
